2027 Empowering Young Women Scholarship

The Adrian Dell & Carmen Roberts Foundation is proud to offer the Empowering Young Women Scholarship, supporting young women who demonstrate academic commitment, leadership, and a dedication to service. This scholarship is part of the Foundation’s ongoing mission to invest in education, personal growth, and future leadership through access to meaningful opportunities.

This opportunity is available to all young ladies who are 2027 graduating high school seniors or who are currently enrolled in college. Scholarship recipients must attend the Empowering Young Women Annual Conference on Saturday, March 2027, Day = TBD, where awards will be presented.

Next Application period will be open from: OCT-2026 through FEB-2027
Current deadline to submit for March - HAS PASSED

Scholarship Award Amounts:
up to $1,000

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must:
  1. Be currently enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or college within the service areas of Riverside County.
  2. Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Provide official school enrollment verification.
  4. Register for and attend the full Empowering Young Women Annual Conference in March 2027, Day = TBD.

    1. One (1) Letter of Recommendation
      The letter should comment upon: (1) the length of time they have known you; (2) your personal qualities, character, leadership abilities, and/or any special attributes; and (3) why they believe you have the perseverance to succeed at the college/university level. All letters must be typewritten and signed to be accepted.
      The letters may be submitted by a High School Teacher or College Professor | High School Counselor | Organization Sponsor | High School Principal | Community Leader | Minister | Volunteer Coordinator | Employer | or a Family Member or Another Trusted Adult.
    2. General Essay (350–500 words) See essay requirements
    3. Merit Essay (500 words) See essay requirements
    4. Unofficial High School or College Transcripts
    ESSAY REQUIREMENTS:
    ESSAY GUIDLEINES FOR BOTH ESSAYS:
    1. Typed in Times New Roman, size 12
    2. Have double-spacing and 1-inch margins on all 4 sides
    3. Be submitted on a separate sheet, and include your name at the top of the page, along with the header with Essay Title: “General Essay.” or “Merit Essay.”
    1. General Essay Prompt:
      • In this essay, highlight your community service, leadership experiences, college and career goals, and how you plan to achieve them.
    2. Merit Essay Prompt:
      • In this essay, discuss an accomplishment or event (formal or informal) that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family. How did this experience change you? If you have ever attended a past Empowering Young Women Conference, please include how it influenced or impacted your growth and journey.
