Adrian “Dell” Roberts
Founder & Co-Chairman
Adrian Dell Roberts (better known as Dell) a youth advocate and community icon has worked for 38 years at the Riverside Unified School District as a football coach, campus supervisor, and assistant principal in charge of discipline at Poly High School from 1965-1989 and as assistant administrator in charge of discipline and campus security for the RUSd from 1989 until his retirement in 2003. Dell Roberts founded the Black Student Union (BSU) Club in local area high schools in 1968. The Riverside Black History Committee founded in 1979 now known as the Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation has supported several cultural activities throughout the year.
Mark Oldyn
Treasurer
Mark Oldyn a native son of Riverside has participated in The Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation, formerly known as The Riverside Black History Month Committee since 1989. Mr. Oldyn started as a parade driver at the age of 20 continuing his service currently as treasurer. currently “I can truly say it is a pleasure working with a Foundation that loves serving its community.”
Carmen Roberts
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Chairman
Carmen Roberts has been the Chairperson of the Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation (formally known as the Black History Month Committee) for the past 35 years. The Foundation has successfully organized and coordinated one of the longest-running Black History Month Parades in California. Other activities include the Expo, Book Bag Give-Away, and the Empowering Young Women’s Conference. The Foundation is staffed by dedicated volunteers that truly believe in “It Takes A Village”.
Alethea Young
Secretary
Alethea Young has volunteered to The Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation for the last 15 years. She is currently the Correspondent Secretary to the ADCR Foundation and assists where ever there is a need. Alethea Young is employed at the Inland Empire Health Plan or IEHP as a Contracts Manager.
